Is it worth buying in Hyrum?

The city has invested a lot in new development. Thoughts? Thanks!

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. it was the best decision I ever made. Compared to New York it's excellent.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Happy to answer more specific questions..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want outdoor recreation, then yeah this place is great. But if cost of living matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

As someone who grew up here, I genuinely enjoy living here. A lot has changed in the past few years though. public transit used to be much competitive but now it's challenging.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value walkability, you'll love it. The outdoor recreation is genuinely decent and I've found I genuinely enjoy living here. My neighborhood (Fairview) is established and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Seattle, be prepared for the culture shock. outdoor recreation is completely different here. And Winters are long and cold.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Weather-wise, the summers are decent and winters are affordable. You get used to it after the first year.
