What's it really like living in Idaho Falls?
First post here. I relocated for work and Household incomes average around $69,630 in Idaho Falls. Poverty rate is 8.1%, which is pretty low. With a population of 66,672, Idaho Falls is a smaller city. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.
Pros:
- Friendly people
- Nice parks and trails
- Active local events
- Good airport connections
Cons:
- Limited public transit
- High property taxes
- Lack of diversity
- Boring for young people
- Limited cultural events
Thoughts? It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.
