Hello, I'm a teacher here and Average temperature is around 54--F, so expect cold winters. With a population of 17,469, Idylwood is a small town. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. What neighborhoods would you suggest?

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value community vibe, you'll love it. The job market is genuinely better than expected and I've found I'm still on the fence after all this time. My neighborhood (Maple Ridge) is wild and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Miami, be prepared for the culture shock. food scene is completely different here. And Traffic during rush hour is rough.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

I'm a lawyer and I've found I genuinely enjoy living here. The community is surprisingly good and there's always something going on.
