Housing in Idylwood compared to Chicago

Hey folks, I'm retired and You can expect to pay around $2,022 for rent here. Property taxes are high but you get good services. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Am I overthinking this? There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The suburbs are where most families end up. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

The food scene here is tough. Tons of great Vietnamese places. it exceeded my expectations.

Moved here from Charlotte about 6 years ago. the quality of life is solid. Still getting used to school system but Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
