Best hidden gems in Ilion

Been meaning to ask this. Been living here since 2018. Household incomes average around $61,880 in Ilion. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Any advice would be great. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

I've lived in Fairview for about 14 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from Denver, I was surprised by pet-friendliness. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Good internet infrastructure
- The healthcare scene is surprisingly good

The downsides:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Homeless population growing downtown

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for young professionals. Feel free to reach out with questions..

The food scene here is hit or miss. Tons of great sushi places. I'm still on the fence after all this time.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem better than expected.

I've been here 13 years and I have mixed feelings honestly. The thing nobody mentions is cost of living. It's established and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the food scene is legit. And if you're into hiking, this place is surprisingly good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Riverside side vs the Meadowbrook side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I have mixed feelings honestly. Internet is average in most areas.

Weather-wise, the summers are improving and winters are developing. You get used to it after the first year.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Greenfield for 15 years. Moved from Minneapolis for quality of life. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is hit or miss. We bought in 2021 at k and it's now worth up significantly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 3-bed in a safe area. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals.

**Employment:**
manufacturing is strong here. legal is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are affordable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it's improved dramatically in recent years. The outdoor scene is better than expected - we have beaches within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Greenfield schools are hit or miss. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Property taxes are high. Limited shopping options. And housing market can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For remote workers, I'd say this is a 8/10. Definitely worth checking out.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.
