From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are tough, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want walkability, then yeah this place is great. But if cost of living matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

I work in engineering here and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The job market for my field is better than expected. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a sales manager who relocated here from San Diego about 10 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and cost of living.
Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Strong job market in several industries
- Good internet infrastructure
Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Property taxes are high
Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are established, gas is tough.
Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. it was the best decision I ever made. Compared to Pittsburgh it's solid.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a physical therapist who relocated here from Phoenix about 11 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and school.
Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Strong job market in several industries
- Close to major attractions
Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Rising rent and home prices
Financially, we've found it solid compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are developing, gas is challenging.
Socially, it's exactly what I was looking for. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Bought a house here in 2016 and it's not perfect but it works for me. Property values have gone down slightly since then.

As someone who grew up here, it's not perfect but it works for me. A lot has changed in the past few years though. safety used to be much growing but now it's pretty good.
