Moving to Imperial Beach for work -advice?

Curious what people think. Just moved here 17 months ago and You can expect to pay around $1,914 for rent here. With a population of 25,897, Imperial Beach is a smaller city. Came here for family and stayed because I have mixed feelings honestly. The weather is honestly excellent and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
