The good and bad of living in Imperial Beach

It's a a smaller city city with about 25,897 people. Rent is about $1,914/month for a decent place. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The suburbs are where most families end up. Am I wrong here? TIA! There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The suburbs are where most families end up. The suburbs are where most families end up.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem improving.

I've been here 9 years and it's exactly what I was looking for. The thing nobody mentions is cost of living. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the community vibe is legit. And if you're into camping, this place is decent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Midtown side vs the Sunset side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

No regrets on my end..
