Why I chose Imperial over bigger cities
Been meaning to ask this. I'm a remote worker and Homes are going for about $344,700 on average. Rent is about $1,396/month for a decent place. The unemployment rate is 4.8%, which is about average. It's a a small town city with about 20,943 people. The weather takes some getting used to. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The suburbs are where most families end up.
Pros:
- Growing food scene
- Low crime in most areas
- Good schools
- Walkable downtown
- Plenty of shopping options
Cons:
- Traffic can be terrible
- Hot summers
- Cold winters
- Limited dining options
Am I wrong here? The weather takes some getting used to. The suburbs are where most families end up. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The food scene here is surprisingly good.
