Biggest downsides of living in Independence?

First post here. I'm retired and Rent is about $1,204/month for a decent place. Household incomes average around $98,653 in Independence. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. What do you all think?

I'm a real estate agent and I've found I genuinely enjoy living here. The community is underrated and there's always something going on.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want healthcare, then yeah this place is great. But if public transit matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Hot take but it's been a really good experience overall. I know a lot of people disagree but after 12 years here, that's my honest assessment.
