How are the schools in Independence?

Hey folks, Homes are going for about $240,500 on average. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Worth the trade-offs? The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem pretty good.

I've been here 5 years and it exceeded my expectations. The thing nobody mentions is nightlife. It's established and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the outdoor recreation is legit. And if you're into photography, this place is better than expected.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Uptown side vs the Oak Park side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. it was the best decision I ever made. Compared to Miami it's surprisingly good.
