Hey, Been living here since 2023. Homes are going for about $166,400 on average. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Does this match your experience? The weather takes some getting used to. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a accountant who relocated here from Houston about 6 years ago. The main reasons were school and my partner's job.
Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Decent public transit for the size
- Affordable housing options
Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Can feel isolated
Financially, we've found it solid compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are reasonable, gas is underrated.
Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 12 years ago from Boston and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Old Town. It's hit or miss for what you get.
Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in consulting. If you're in legal you might struggle.
People: Generally decent. It took about 13 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: solid. Tons of options if you like Vietnamese.
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
