Relocating to Indian Hills, NV -pros and cons?

Hi all, I work in education and Rent is about $1,417/month for a decent place. Median household income is $77,881, which feels about average for the area. It's a a small town city with about 5,772 people. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. What would you do? The weather takes some getting used to. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The weather takes some getting used to. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 6 years ago from New York and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Sunset. It's improving for what you get.

Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in construction. If you're in education you might struggle.

People: Generally underrated. It took about 5 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: tough. Tons of options if you like Indian.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem decent.

I've been here 1 years and it's been a really good experience overall. The thing nobody mentions is dating scene. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the job market is legit. And if you're into mountain biking, this place is decent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Midtown side vs the West side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..
