Studio apartments in Indian Mountain Lake -options?
Longtime lurker here, Poverty rate is 8.9%, which is pretty low. Household incomes average around $76,426 in Indian Mountain Lake. Median household income is $76,426, which feels about average for the area. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Has anyone dealt with this? The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value nightlife, you'll love it. The traffic is genuinely pretty good and I've found it was the best decision I ever made. My neighborhood (Downtown) is competitive and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Dallas, be prepared for the culture shock. community vibe is completely different here. And Traffic during rush hour is rough.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a real estate agent who relocated here from Boston about 12 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and a fresh start.
Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Good healthcare facilities
Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Nightlife is limited
Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are growing, gas is average.
Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. it exceeded my expectations. Compared to San Francisco it's excellent.

I work in retail here and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The job market for my field is better than expected. Feel free to reach out with questions..
