Is public transit usable in Indian Trail?

First post here. Been living here since 2019. Median household income is $99,073, which feels pretty solid for the area. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Let me know your thoughts. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

I've lived in Eastside for about 14 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I'm still on the fence after all this time. When I first moved here from Seattle, I was surprised by safety. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Four distinct seasons
- The job market scene is underrated

The downsides:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Road conditions need improvement

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for young professionals. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem improving.

I've been here 12 years and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The thing nobody mentions is pet-friendliness. It's wild and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the safety is legit. And if you're into fishing, this place is underrated.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Lakewood side vs the Cedar Grove side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

I've lived in South for about 4 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I'm still on the fence after all this time. When I first moved here from Boston, I was surprised by public transit. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Active local events and festivals
- Affordable housing options
- The nightlife scene is decent

The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Dating scene is rough

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for families. Definitely worth checking out..

Weather-wise, the summers are pretty good and winters are manageable. You get used to it after the first year.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem average.

I've been here 8 years and it's exactly what I was looking for. The thing nobody mentions is nightlife. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the public transit is legit. And if you're into photography, this place is underrated.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Lakewood side vs the Greenfield side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Lakewood for 1 years. Moved from San Diego for a job opportunity. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is better than expected. We bought in 2015 at k and it's now worth up a bit than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 2-bed in a safe area. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable.

**Employment:**
marketing is strong here. manufacturing is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are wild for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I'm still on the fence after all this time. The outdoor scene is solid - we have national forests within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Lakewood schools are better than expected. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Rising rent and home prices. Limited entertainment options. And cost of living can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For remote workers, I'd say this is a 9/10. Happy to answer more specific questions.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.
