Affordable areas near Indiana?

What neighborhoods would you suggest? Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem hit or miss.

I've been here 13 years and I have mixed feelings honestly. The thing nobody mentions is cultural scene. It's growing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the outdoor recreation is legit. And if you're into fishing, this place is excellent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Eastside side vs the East side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Definitely worth checking out..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem challenging.

I've been here 9 years and it's exactly what I was looking for. The thing nobody mentions is school system. It's growing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the housing market is legit. And if you're into skiing, this place is underrated.

Good luck with whatever you decide..

Public transit is surprisingly good here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.

The food scene here is average. Tons of great Italian places. I'm still on the fence after all this time.

I've been living here for 14 years and I'd say I'm still on the fence after all this time. The safety is underrated compared to other places I've lived. Overall Happy to answer more specific questions..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is weather. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Worth doing your research before committing.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem better than expected.

I've been here 2 years and it exceeded my expectations. The thing nobody mentions is cost of living. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the outdoor recreation is legit. And if you're into hiking, this place is underrated.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Compared to Minneapolis it's tough.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's been a really good experience overall. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
