Indianola is underrated, change my mind

Curious what people think. My family moved here when I was a kid. It's a a small town city with about 15,918 people. With a population of 15,918, Indianola is a small town. Rent is about $966/month for a decent place. The unemployment rate is 2.5%, which is pretty low. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Am I wrong here? The weather takes some getting used to. The city has invested a lot in new development. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

Public transit is average here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's exactly what I was looking for.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it was the best decision I ever made. Definitely worth checking out..

I've lived in East for about 12 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from Baltimore, I was surprised by healthcare. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Lots of new development happening
- The housing market scene is tough

The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Limited high-paying job options

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for singles. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want healthcare, then yeah this place is great. But if walkability matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 3 years ago from Nashville and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Cedar Grove. It's underrated for what you get.

Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in construction. If you're in finance you might struggle.

People: Generally better than expected. It took about 8 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: decent. Tons of options if you like Indian.

Feel free to reach out with questions..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's been a really good experience overall. Internet is better than expected in most areas.
