Best apartments in Indio under ?

Alright, We have two kids and Poverty rate is 9.1%, which is pretty low. Homes are going for about $424,700 on average. It's a a smaller city city with about 90,669 people. The weather takes some getting used to. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

Pros:
- Low crime in most areas
- Walkable downtown
- Good airport connections

Cons:
- Limited public transit
- Rising rent prices
- Limited dining options
Thoughts? It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The city has invested a lot in new development. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The suburbs are where most families end up. I've been living here for 8 years and I'd say there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The job market is surprisingly good compared to other places I've lived. Overall Definitely worth checking out..

I've been living here for 5 years and I'd say it's exactly what I was looking for. The cultural scene is challenging compared to other places I've lived. Overall Feel free to reach out with questions..

My experience has been mostly positive. it exceeded my expectations. The only thing I'd watch out for is nightlife. Other than that, Definitely worth checking out..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Internet is better than expected in most areas.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value housing market, you'll love it. The food scene is genuinely pretty good and I've found I love the pace of life here. My neighborhood (Sunset) is stable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Chicago, be prepared for the culture shock. cost of living is completely different here. And Road conditions need improvement.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem hit or miss.

I've been here 10 years and it's improved dramatically in recent years. The thing nobody mentions is cost of living. It's manageable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the outdoor recreation is legit. And if you're into hiking, this place is hit or miss.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The South side vs the Highland side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Good luck with whatever you decide..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in West for 15 years. Moved from Dallas for cost of living. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is surprisingly good. We bought in 2019 at k and it's now worth about the same than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 3-bed in a safe area. The market is competitive but not impossible.

**Employment:**
manufacturing is strong here. marketing is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are stable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it was the best decision I ever made. The outdoor scene is decent - we have state parks within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. West schools are surprisingly good. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Limited public transit options. Limited entertainment options. And cost of living can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For families, I'd say this is a 9/10. Give it a chance - it might surprise you.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.
