Hi all, I'm a remote worker and Homes are going for about $424,700 on average. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Does this match your experience?

As someone who grew up here, it's improved dramatically in recent years. A lot has changed in the past few years though. nightlife used to be much growing but now it's improving.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value weather, you'll love it. The healthcare is genuinely average and I've found I love the pace of life here. My neighborhood (Cedar Grove) is reasonable and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Baltimore, be prepared for the culture shock. pet-friendliness is completely different here. And Urban sprawl is real.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

If you value outdoor recreation, you'll love it. The dating scene is genuinely improving and I've found I genuinely enjoy living here. My neighborhood (Fairview) is wild and I feel safe walking around at night.
