Life in Indio as a young professional

Moved here 9 years ago for work. Indio has a solid community for young professionals. Income levels are solid here — median is around $78,709. Rent runs about $1,392/month for a typical apartment. The social scene is improving every year. Would I recommend it? For the right person, definitely..

I work in logistics and finding a job wasn't hard. Took about 4 months.

My kids love it here. So many parks and activities. Great value for the money.

If you can afford it, Westside is the best place to live. Period.

Traffic is the worst part honestly. But if you live near work it's fine.

Coming from Denver, the cost of living difference is noticeable. Groceries and gas are cheaper.

Public transit needs work but they're investing in it. Should improve in next few years.

For families, I'd recommend looking at Midtown. Schools are rated well and it's quiet.

Don't sleep on Maple Heights. It's up and coming and still affordable.

Can confirm the safety issue. But it really depends on the neighborhood. Northside and Midtown are perfectly safe.

Good summary. I'd rate it higher personally — maybe 6/10.
