Pros and cons of Indio after 15 years

Longtime lurker here, The unemployment rate is 2.7%, which is pretty low. Homes are going for about $424,700 on average. You can expect to pay around $1,392 for rent here. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Maple Ridge for 5 years. Moved from Denver for quality of life. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is average. We bought in 2021 at k and it's now worth down slightly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. Older homes are where the value is.

**Employment:**
education is strong here. marketing is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are established for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it's not perfect but it works for me. The outdoor scene is solid - we have state parks within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Maple Ridge schools are excellent. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Road conditions need improvement. Limited entertainment options. And pet-friendliness can be frustrating.
