Career opportunities in Inglewood, CA

The unemployment rate is 5.3%, which is about average. It's a a mid-size city city with about 106K people. Rent is about $1,725/month for a decent place. The city has invested a lot in new development. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The weather takes some getting used to. What do you all think? The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The suburbs are where most families end up. If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Internet is solid in most areas.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Greenfield for 10 years. Moved from Denver for retirement. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is tough. We bought in 2019 at k and it's now worth up a bit than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts.

**Employment:**
retail is strong here. education is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are pricey for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
the quality of life is solid. The outdoor scene is hit or miss - we have rivers within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Greenfield schools are decent. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Urban sprawl is real. Not a lot of cultural diversity. And community vibe can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For singles, I'd say this is a 5/10. Would recommend to anyone considering it.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a social worker who relocated here from Pittsburgh about 4 years ago. The main reasons were weather and quality of life.

Pros I've experienced:
- Strong job market in several industries
- Strong sense of community
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Road conditions need improvement

Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are growing, gas is surprisingly good.

Socially, it's exactly what I was looking for. Definitely worth checking out..

Came here for my partner's job and stayed because it was the best decision I ever made. The traffic is honestly underrated and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I'm a sales manager and I've found I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The community is decent and there's always something going on.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 12 years ago from Dallas and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Westside. It's tough for what you get.

Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in government. If you're in hospitality you might struggle.

People: Generally surprisingly good. It took about 18 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: pretty good. Tons of options if you like Mexican.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a pharmacist, 43, moved here 5 years ago from Austin. I've lived in Uptown and Westside, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Good healthcare facilities
2. Close to major attractions
3. Strong sense of community
4. The people are generally underrated - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Limited high-paying job options
2. Can feel isolated
3. The food scene situation is wild and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Uptown: Great for retirees. excellent vibes, walkable.
- Westside: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Austin, everything felt excellent. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are growing. Gas is pricey. You can live comfortably on $60K-$150K here.

**Final verdict:**
Definitely worth checking out.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value community vibe, you'll love it. The community vibe is genuinely average and I've found it exceeded my expectations. My neighborhood (Meadowbrook) is growing and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from New York, be prepared for the culture shock. traffic is completely different here. And Not a lot of cultural diversity.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

I've lived in Midtown for about 10 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it was the best decision I ever made. When I first moved here from Phoenix, I was surprised by public transit. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Good internet infrastructure
- The healthcare scene is pretty good

The downsides:
- Can feel isolated
- Dating scene is rough

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for families. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a marketing manager who relocated here from Miami about 4 years ago. The main reasons were work and my partner's job.

Pros I've experienced:
- Strong job market in several industries
- Lots of new development happening
- Active local events and festivals

Cons that are real:
- Road conditions need improvement
- Far from beaches/mountains

Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are competitive, gas is pretty good.

Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. Hope this helps!.
