Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a electrician who relocated here from Chicago about 3 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and quality of life.
Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Good healthcare facilities
- Decent public transit for the size
Cons that are real:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Can feel isolated
Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are stable, gas is pretty good.
Socially, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
