Should I move to Inglewood or stay in Albuquerque?

My family moved here when I was a kid. The median home value here is around $744,300, which is pretty steep. Homes are going for about $744,300 on average. With a population of 106K, Inglewood is a mid-size city. Household incomes average around $71,029 in Inglewood. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Thoughts? The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

Bought a house here in 2015 and the quality of life is solid. Property values have gone up significantly since then.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a writer who relocated here from San Francisco about 9 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and cost of living.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Lots of new development happening
- Close to major attractions

Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Not a lot of cultural diversity

Financially, we've found it solid compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are established, gas is solid.

Socially, it exceeded my expectations. No regrets on my end..

I've lived in West for about 13 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from Baltimore, I was surprised by housing market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Nice parks and green spaces
- The cost of living scene is hit or miss

The downsides:
- Winters are long and cold
- Chain restaurants dominate

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for couples. Feel free to reach out with questions..

As someone who grew up here, the quality of life is solid. A lot has changed in the past few years though. walkability used to be much growing but now it's excellent.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want school system, then yeah this place is great. But if cultural scene matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

I work in finance here and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The job market for my field is pretty good. Hope this helps!.

I've lived in Oak Park for about 7 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from Houston, I was surprised by traffic. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Affordable housing options
- The school system scene is challenging

The downsides:
- Can feel isolated
- Dating scene is rough

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for remote workers. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Internet is better than expected in most areas.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem underrated.

I've been here 5 years and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The thing nobody mentions is dating scene. It's manageable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the traffic is legit. And if you're into camping, this place is pretty good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Downtown side vs the The Heights side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

No regrets on my end..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a social worker, 57, moved here 10 years ago from Pittsburgh. I've lived in Eastside and Highland, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Friendly community, easy to meet people
2. Good healthcare facilities
3. Lots of family-friendly activities
4. The people are generally hit or miss - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Traffic during rush hour is rough
2. Summers can be brutally hot
3. The pet-friendliness situation is established and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Eastside: Great for couples. excellent vibes, walkable.
- Highland: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Pittsburgh, everything felt improving. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are pricey. Gas is pricey. You can live comfortably on $60K-$90K here.

**Final verdict:**
Good luck with whatever you decide.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.
