Best industries in Inkster right now

Been meaning to ask this. I'm retired and Median household income is $39,632, which feels on the lower side for the area. Household incomes average around $39,632 in Inkster. It's a a smaller city city with about 25,602 people. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The weather takes some getting used to. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The suburbs are where most families end up. The city has invested a lot in new development. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The suburbs are where most families end up. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Compared to Houston it's improving.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's not perfect but it works for me. Internet is improving in most areas.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 1 years ago from Nashville and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Sunset. It's solid for what you get.

Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in real estate. If you're in engineering you might struggle.

People: Generally solid. It took about 5 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: better than expected. Tons of options if you like Mediterranean.

Definitely worth checking out..

My experience has been mostly positive. it's exactly what I was looking for. The only thing I'd watch out for is healthcare. Other than that, Happy to answer more specific questions..
