Anyone else feel this way? Household incomes average around $39,632 in Inkster. Rent is about $1,127/month for a decent place. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The suburbs are where most families end up. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a pharmacist who relocated here from LA about 4 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and a fresh start.
Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Active local events and festivals
- Close to major attractions
Cons that are real:
- Property taxes are high
- Limited entertainment options
Financially, we've found it solid compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are established, gas is underrated.
Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I have mixed feelings honestly. Internet is pretty good in most areas.

We moved here with our family and the quality of life is solid. Schools in Fairview area are pretty good. Kids love it here.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a data analyst who relocated here from Miami about 14 years ago. The main reasons were weather and a fresh start.
Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Strong job market in several industries
Cons that are real:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Homeless population growing downtown
Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are growing, gas is hit or miss.
Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Hot take but it's not perfect but it works for me. I know a lot of people disagree but after 15 years here, that's my honest assessment.
