Pros and cons of Inola after 6 years

Not sure if this has been asked before, but I'm single, late 20s, and The median home value here is around $170,400, which is actually reasonable. Average temperature is around 59--F, so the weather is moderate. The weather takes some getting used to. What neighborhoods would you suggest? Cheers.

I'm a marketing manager and I've found it's improved dramatically in recent years. The community is average and there's always something going on.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem decent.

I've been here 14 years and I genuinely enjoy living here. The thing nobody mentions is healthcare. It's affordable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the cost of living is legit. And if you're into photography, this place is pretty good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The East side vs the Uptown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

No regrets on my end..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Old Town for 1 years. Moved from Portland for quality of life. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is pretty good. We bought in 2022 at k and it's now worth up significantly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. Lots of new construction which should help.

**Employment:**
construction is strong here. construction is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are stable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I genuinely enjoy living here. The outdoor scene is solid - we have lakes within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Old Town schools are solid. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Not a lot of cultural diversity. Chain restaurants dominate. And food scene can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For singles, I'd say this is a 6/10. Good luck with whatever you decide.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a social worker who relocated here from Chicago about 5 years ago. The main reasons were family and family.

Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Good internet infrastructure
- Close to major attractions

Cons that are real:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Limited high-paying job options

Financially, we've found it solid compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are developing, gas is improving.

Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. Feel free to reach out with questions..
