Hello, I'm retired and You can expect to pay around $1,447 for rent here. Crime rate is something to consider -Inver Grove Heights sits at 218.7 per 100K. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Let me know your thoughts. TIA!

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is outdoor recreation. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Worth doing your research before committing.

My experience has been mostly positive. I genuinely enjoy living here. The only thing I'd watch out for is nightlife. Other than that, Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value public transit, you'll love it. The pet-friendliness is genuinely improving and I've found I love the pace of life here. My neighborhood (Downtown) is growing and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Miami, be prepared for the culture shock. school system is completely different here. And Winters are long and cold.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
