Inverness quality of life -am I missing something?

Not sure if this has been asked before, but I'm single, late 50s, and Homes are going for about $799,600 on average. Crime rate is something to consider -Inverness sits at 132.1 per 100K. It's a a small town city with about 3,088 people. The median home value here is around $799,600, which is pretty steep. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The food scene here is surprisingly good. What do you all think? TIA! Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. I love the pace of life here. Compared to Portland it's surprisingly good.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are tough, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Public transit is hit or miss here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's not perfect but it works for me.

Came here for cost of living and stayed because it's improved dramatically in recent years. The community vibe is honestly solid and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Weather-wise, the summers are challenging and winters are growing. You get used to it after the first year.
