Weekend activities in Inverness?

Hey, We're a young couple and It's a a small town city with about 7,672 people. Homes are going for about $168,100 on average. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Let me know your thoughts. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Used to live on the South side, now on the Riverside side. Completely different vibe. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Compared to Houston it's improving.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it exceeded my expectations. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is outdoor recreation. it was the best decision I ever made. Worth doing your research before committing.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 7 years ago from Seattle and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Springfield. It's decent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in tech. If you're in hospitality you might struggle.

People: Generally pretty good. It took about 9 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: tough. Tons of options if you like sushi.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
