I'm a teacher here and Household incomes average around $66,143 in Iona. Homes are going for about $295,700 on average. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. What neighborhoods would you suggest? The city has invested a lot in new development. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The suburbs are where most families end up.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem improving.
I've been here 13 years and I genuinely enjoy living here. The thing nobody mentions is weather. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the job market is legit. And if you're into biking, this place is better than expected.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Downtown side vs the Highland side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 15 years ago from Raleigh and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Lakewood. It's pretty good for what you get.
Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in tech. If you're in education you might struggle.
People: Generally better than expected. It took about 5 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: tough. Tons of options if you like Korean.
Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

I've been living here for 1 years and I'd say it's not perfect but it works for me. The cultural scene is solid compared to other places I've lived. Overall Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

As someone who grew up here, I have mixed feelings honestly. A lot has changed in the past few years though. food scene used to be much competitive but now it's hit or miss.
