Moving to Iona with kids -good idea?

Been meaning to ask this. Crime rate is something to consider -Iona sits at 143.4 per 100K. Rent is about $1,908/month for a decent place. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The suburbs are where most families end up. Worth the trade-offs? It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The weather takes some getting used to. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

Came here for family and stayed because I'm still on the fence after all this time. The traffic is honestly pretty good and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I have mixed feelings honestly. Internet is average in most areas.
