Considering Iowa Colony vs Sacramento -help me decide

Curious what people think. It's a a small town city with about 11,028 people. Poverty rate is 3.4%, which is pretty low. Median household income is $126,167, which feels pretty solid for the area. Homes are going for about $356,300 on average. With a population of 11,028, Iowa Colony is a small town. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The suburbs are where most families end up. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Would love some local perspective. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The weather takes some getting used to. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The suburbs are where most families end up. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The suburbs are where most families end up. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The weather takes some getting used to. OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 1 years ago from Pittsburgh and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Downtown. It's average for what you get.

Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in education. If you're in tech you might struggle.

People: Generally challenging. It took about 9 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: hit or miss. Tons of options if you like BBQ.

Definitely worth checking out..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem hit or miss.

I've been here 10 years and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The thing nobody mentions is outdoor recreation. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the school system is legit. And if you're into biking, this place is underrated.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Meadowbrook side vs the Greenfield side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Definitely worth checking out..

Weather-wise, the summers are surprisingly good and winters are manageable. You get used to it after the first year.
