First post here. My family moved here when I was a kid. Household incomes average around $126,167 in Iowa Colony. The median home value here is around $356,300, which seems about average. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Thoughts?

Public transit is excellent here. You'll probably need a car for most things. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad.

I've lived in Sunset for about 1 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from Charlotte, I was surprised by safety. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Decent public transit for the size
- The school system scene is better than expected
The downsides:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Homeless population growing downtown
Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for retirees. Happy to answer more specific questions..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is safety. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Worth doing your research before committing.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are tough, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.
