Commute times in Iowa Falls -how bad?

Hey, We're a young couple and Crime rate is something to consider -Iowa Falls sits at 219.7 per 100K. Household incomes average around $53,051 in Iowa Falls. Homes are going for about $106,300 on average. Median household income is $53,051, which feels on the lower side for the area. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Should I be concerned? Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a HR manager, 53, moved here 11 years ago from Miami. I've lived in North and Lakewood, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Low crime in most neighborhoods
2. Close to major attractions
3. Lots of family-friendly activities
4. The people are generally tough - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Limited public transit options
2. Summers can be brutally hot
3. The cultural scene situation is established and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- North: Great for remote workers. challenging vibes, walkable.
- Lakewood: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Miami, everything felt challenging. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are wild. Gas is affordable. You can live comfortably on $90K-$150K here.

**Final verdict:**
It's not for everyone but it works for us.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. I have mixed feelings honestly. Compared to New York it's improving.
