First post here. I'm a college student here and Rent is about $945/month for a decent place. Median household income is $64,340, which feels about average for the area. It's a a small town city with about 6,574 people. Homes are going for about $121,800 on average. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The weather takes some getting used to. Am I overthinking this? There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

I work in government here and it's been a really good experience overall. The job market for my field is tough. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it exceeded my expectations. No regrets on my end..

I've lived in East for about 12 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I love the pace of life here. When I first moved here from Seattle, I was surprised by pet-friendliness. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Strong sense of community
- The healthcare scene is underrated
The downsides:
- Winters are long and cold
- Chain restaurants dominate
Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for young professionals. Hope this helps!.
