OK so I'm a nurse at the local hospital and Average temperature is around 42--F, so bundle up in winter. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Thanks in advance!

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem underrated.
I've been here 10 years and it's improved dramatically in recent years. The thing nobody mentions is healthcare. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the nightlife is legit. And if you're into surfing, this place is better than expected.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Greenfield side vs the Pine Hills side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Definitely worth checking out..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 3 years ago from Phoenix and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Fairview. It's excellent for what you get.
Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in tech. If you're in hospitality you might struggle.
People: Generally solid. It took about 17 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: average. Tons of options if you like sushi.
Definitely worth checking out..

My experience has been mostly positive. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The only thing I'd watch out for is housing market. Other than that, No regrets on my end..

Public transit is excellent here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's not perfect but it works for me.

That said, the walkability is legit. And if you're into hiking, this place is improving.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Eastside side vs the Sunset side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
