Weekend activities in Irondale?

First post here. My partner and I are With a population of 13,462, Irondale is a small town. You can expect to pay around $1,177 for rent here. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Anyone in a similar situation? It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The city has invested a lot in new development. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a software engineer who relocated here from Miami about 4 years ago. The main reasons were weather and a fresh start.

Pros I've experienced:
- Lots of new development happening
- Affordable housing options
- Diverse dining options

Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Not very walkable outside downtown

Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are competitive, gas is decent.

Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
