Working in Irondequoit -salaries realistic?

Hey, Just moved here 4 months ago and Poverty rate is 5.5%, which is pretty low. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Does this match your experience? There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a HR manager who relocated here from Minneapolis about 7 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and my partner's job.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Strong job market in several industries
- Strong sense of community

Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Nightlife is limited

Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are stable, gas is tough.

Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. Hope this helps!.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem tough.

I've been here 13 years and the quality of life is solid. The thing nobody mentions is safety. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the weather is legit. And if you're into rock climbing, this place is surprisingly good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Maple Ridge side vs the East side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Hope this helps!.

Came here for a job opportunity and stayed because it's exactly what I was looking for. The nightlife is honestly excellent and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

We moved here with our family and I genuinely enjoy living here. Schools in North area are pretty good. Kids love it here.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a HR manager who relocated here from San Francisco about 1 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and a job opportunity.

Pros I've experienced:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Active local events and festivals
- Diverse dining options

Cons that are real:
- Property taxes are high
- Dating scene is rough

Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are wild, gas is surprisingly good.

Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. No regrets on my end..
