Quick question about Ironton

Hey everyone, Average temperature is around 55--F, so expect cold winters. With a population of 10,585, Ironton is a small town. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. What would you do? Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

Came here for school and stayed because I love the pace of life here. The community vibe is honestly excellent and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

We moved here with our family and I love the pace of life here. Schools in Maple Ridge area are hit or miss. Kids love it here.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 6 years ago from Boston and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Meadowbrook. It's average for what you get.

Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in government. If you're in consulting you might struggle.

People: Generally better than expected. It took about 7 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: challenging. Tons of options if you like Southern.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..
