Crime rate is something to consider -Ironton sits at 179.7 per 100K. Median household income is $45,694, which feels on the lower side for the area. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Worth the trade-offs?

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.
I've been in Sunset for 9 years. Moved from San Diego for quality of life. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is tough. We bought in 2017 at k and it's now worth up significantly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. Older homes are where the value is.
**Employment:**
engineering is strong here. consulting is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are manageable for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
I genuinely enjoy living here. The outdoor scene is surprisingly good - we have beaches within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Sunset schools are underrated. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Traffic during rush hour is rough. Limited entertainment options. And school system can be frustrating.
**Bottom line:**
For retirees, I'd say this is a 5/10. Feel free to reach out with questions.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 3 years ago from Austin and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Fairview. It's solid for what you get.
Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in retail. If you're in tech you might struggle.
People: Generally decent. It took about 18 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like Asian.
Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it exceeded my expectations. Internet is decent in most areas.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a HR manager who relocated here from Chicago about 9 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and work.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Affordable housing options
- Strong sense of community
Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Property taxes are high
Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are wild, gas is underrated.
Socially, it's been a really good experience overall. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a marketing manager who relocated here from Pittsburgh about 9 years ago. The main reasons were school and my partner's job.
Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Lots of new development happening
Cons that are real:
- Nightlife is limited
- Chain restaurants dominate
Financially, we've found it solid compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are competitive, gas is better than expected.
Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. No regrets on my end..
