Ironwood is underrated, change my mind

Hi all, I'm a 50-year-old electrician and Poverty rate is 6.8%, which is pretty low. It's a a small town city with about 5,004 people. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The city has invested a lot in new development. Does this match your experience? It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Used to live on the Pine Hills side, now on the Cedar Grove side. Completely different vibe. it was the best decision I ever made.

I work in engineering here and it's improved dramatically in recent years. The job market for my field is surprisingly good. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value housing market, you'll love it. The safety is genuinely challenging and I've found there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. My neighborhood (Old Town) is reasonable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Boston, be prepared for the culture shock. food scene is completely different here. And Limited high-paying job options.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Weather-wise, the summers are improving and winters are developing. You get used to it after the first year.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

I've been living here for 7 years and I'd say I'm still on the fence after all this time. The cost of living is solid compared to other places I've lived. Overall Feel free to reach out with questions..
