Should I move to Ironwood or stay in Nashville?

Hey everyone, I'm a 30-year-old teacher and You can expect to pay around $555 for rent here. Poverty rate is 6.8%, which is pretty low. The median home value here is around $74,900, which is actually reasonable. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The weather takes some getting used to. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Thoughts? Looking forward to hearing from you all. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The city has invested a lot in new development. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The weather takes some getting used to. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Internet is challenging in most areas.

Bought a house here in 2017 and it's exactly what I was looking for. Property values have gone about the same since then.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a writer who relocated here from Denver about 5 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and family.

Pros I've experienced:
- Strong job market in several industries
- Lots of new development happening
- Active local events and festivals

Cons that are real:
- Dating scene is rough
- Far from beaches/mountains

Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are developing, gas is challenging.

Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. Hope this helps!.
