Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a accountant who relocated here from Dallas about 9 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and cost of living.
Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Close to major attractions
- Lots of family-friendly activities
Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Can feel isolated
Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are wild, gas is average.
Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
