Longtime lurker here, Been living here since 2013. Average temperature is around 62°F, so the weather is moderate. Crime rate is something to consider — Irvine sits at 64.2 per 100K. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The city has invested a lot in new development. Am I overthinking this? Cheers. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

I'm a social worker and I've found there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The community is hit or miss and there's always something going on.

Weather-wise, the summers are challenging and winters are reasonable. You get used to it after the first year.
