Random thought, I work in consulting and Rent is about $2,893/month for a decent place. Homes are going for about $1,115,400 on average. With a population of 308K, Irvine is a mid-size city. Household incomes average around $129,647 in Irvine. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.
