Anyone else feel this way? I'm originally from Nashville and You can expect to pay around $1,517 for rent here. Average temperature is around 69°F, so the weather is moderate. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The weather takes some getting used to. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The city has invested a lot in new development.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 7 years ago from Chicago and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Pine Hills. It's better than expected for what you get.
Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in engineering. If you're in engineering you might struggle.
People: Generally better than expected. It took about 17 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: decent. Tons of options if you like Thai.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem surprisingly good.
I've been here 1 years and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The thing nobody mentions is cultural scene. It's manageable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the community vibe is legit. And if you're into photography, this place is better than expected.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Greenfield side vs the South side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
It's not for everyone but it works for us..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 4 years ago from Atlanta and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Pine Hills. It's challenging for what you get.
Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in consulting. If you're in consulting you might struggle.
People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 7 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: challenging. Tons of options if you like Mediterranean.
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is community vibe. I love the pace of life here. Worth doing your research before committing.

I work in marketing here and it's not perfect but it works for me. The job market for my field is pretty good. No regrets on my end..
