How much do you pay for rent in Isla Vista?
Curious what people think. Just moved here 17 months ago and It's a a small town city with about 13,717 people. The median home value here is around $1,241,700, which is pretty steep. You can expect to pay around $1,856 for rent here. Poverty rate is 6.7%, which is pretty low. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

- Easy commute
- Lots of new development
- Walkable downtown
Cons:
- Traffic can be terrible
- Few job opportunities in some fields
- Not enough green space
Has anyone dealt with this? Property taxes are high but you get good services. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.
