Best industries in Islip right now

Hey everyone, The unemployment rate is 3.3%, which is pretty low. You can expect to pay around $2,192 for rent here. Median household income is $122,596, which feels pretty solid for the area. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Is this normal for Islip? Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

I've been living here for 2 years and I'd say it exceeded my expectations. The walkability is excellent compared to other places I've lived. Overall Good luck with whatever you decide..

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are improving, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Public transit is average here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a chef who relocated here from Austin about 1 years ago. The main reasons were school and quality of life.

Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Affordable housing options
- Strong sense of community

Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Chain restaurants dominate

Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are developing, gas is decent.

Socially, it's been a really good experience overall. Feel free to reach out with questions..

I've lived in Pine Hills for about 15 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from Raleigh, I was surprised by walkability. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good schools in most areas
- Affordable housing options
- The community vibe scene is average

The downsides:
- Dating scene is rough
- Limited entertainment options

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for singles. No regrets on my end..
