Not sure if this has been asked before, but Just moved here 3 months ago and You can expect to pay around $2,192 for rent here. It's a a small town city with about 17,224 people. Rent is about $2,192/month for a decent place. The unemployment rate is 3.3%, which is pretty low. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Does this match your experience? Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is healthcare. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Worth doing your research before committing.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 2 years ago from Tampa and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Midtown. It's better than expected for what you get.
Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in marketing. If you're in consulting you might struggle.
People: Generally average. It took about 7 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: better than expected. Tons of options if you like Vietnamese.
